GORE BIKE WEAR®

Modern mobility for the city – functionality meets style with the new ELEMENT URBAN autumn/winter 2015/16 collection

August 17, 2015

When the cold season starts, anyone who cycles in the city on a daily basis faces a dilemma, namely that functional cycle clothing doesn’t come in a contemporary urban style and normal city wear lacks the functionality bikers need in the autumn and winter. With the newly redesigned ELEMENT URBAN line GORE BIKE WEAR® now offers the perfect solution. In this collection GORE BIKE WEAR® combines the unique expertise demonstrated in its functional cycle wear with a new approach to urban lifestyle.

To this end, in designing the new ELEMENT URBAN line the GORE BIKE WEAR® experts have focused on crucial urban-mobility trends, i.e. what the cityscape of the future will be like, where urban cycling is heading and city cyclists’ special requirements. The result is a collection that goes the extra mile in terms of stylish design, comfort and functionality, and pays particular attention to minute details. The integration of reflective and neon elements further improves visibility 24/7 and thus increases safety for cyclists in city traffic. Throughout the line these neon applications and reflective elements can be used flexibly and as needed, or can be folded or stowed away, so both on and off your bike you will be stylishly attired without losing out on functionality when in the saddle. And with regard to comprehensive weatherproofing the collection sets new standards by using innovative WINDSTOPPER® Soft Shell materials. The products are windproof, breathable and water-repellent. The ELEMENT URBAN line equally takes the communications requirements of everyday city life into consideration by integrating cable routing into the WINDSTOPPER® Soft Shell Jacket and offering smartphone-friendly gloves.

Over 15 years ago GORE BIKE WEAR® developed the still legendary Cosmo Jacket in collaboration with cycle couriers. The designers have now applied the resultant experience to the redesign of the unique ELEMENT URBAN WS SO Jacket, which is perfect for city cyclists. The conspicuous waffle pattern and the camouflage print make for a fashionable look, whilst the WINDSTOPPER® Soft Shell Technology offers optimum weatherproofing and the variable-use reflectors and neon details ensure added safety.

The ELEMENT URBAN WS SO Pants combine high tech and smart design with all the advantages of cycle pants fit for any everyday situation. The well-thought-out WINDSTOPPER® Soft Shell Technology thus guarantees full protection against wind, moisture and splash water when cycling on wet roads. Strategically positioned reflectors also increase visibility and thus help with safety in traffic.

Thanks to the reflectors and neon details specially positioned between the fingers, the ELEMENT URBAN WS Gloves are a real eyecatcher and increase visibility 24/7 in city traffic. The WINDSTOPPER® material provides optimum protection against cold, and transfers sweat outwards. And if you want to check your emails whilst out and about you won‘t need to take your gloves off, as special pads on the fingertips allow convenient and reliable smartphone operation.

The bicycle will continue to make its mark on our cities in future, and for good reason. The daily cycle to work brings movement to everyday office life, and removes the irritating search for parking slots. With the new ELEMENT URBAN line GORE BIKE WEAR® shows that the futuristic concept of combining state-of-the-art functionality with contemporary style in a single line of clothing has already become reality. It is in fact a perfect offering for hobby cyclists, commuters and anyone for whom a bike is quite simply vital to daily mobility – in all weathers and all environments.
